Earl Middleton, M.Div.Asking God to enlarge our territory will eventuate in God enlarging our thinking. As a man thinks in his heart so is he (Pr 23:7). We can’t have large territory without large thinking.

I’ve limited myself so much by exclusive focus. Focus doesn’t have to be exclusive. We can learn to practice inclusive focus. Include in your thoughts, plans, and actions everything your heart desires, then focus on each one at a time. Why have just one career if there are others in your heart? Pursue each one heartily, as unto the Lord (Col 3:23). Give each one your full focus in its time.

This is what Solomon meant in Ecclesiastes 11:6 when he said to sow seed in the morning and not to withhold your hand in the evening. Do EVERYTHING that’s in your hand/power/mind to do, because you don’t know which one will succeed. In fact, ALL of them might!

That is the definition of a full life, with enlarged borders, and satisfied living.

To not withhold your hand in the evening means to refuse to let time dictate sowing. It’s never too late to plant something, to start a venture, to initiate a process, to begin change. It’s never too late to start a new degree program, a new career, a new way of life, or even a new family. None of it is guaranteed to succeed, but none of it is guaranteed to fail because of the start time, either! SOW! START! LIVE!

Have you ever started anything late by the world’s standards and yet seen it flourish? Have you witnessed anyone else do so? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
